Do It Yourselfers (Design)

  Do It Yourselfers:
  • This service is for clients who need professional advice on their landscapes; whether it’s a major problem or just some ideas on what plants to install.  This service includes an on-site consultation with a design professional, a site analysis, and a list of recommendations, ideas, and/or solutions.

  Do It Yourselfers Plus:

  • This service is for those clients who know they have the skills to install a landscape, but need a detailed plan to make it happen.  This landscape design plan can be as comprehensive or as general as the client’s needs.  Depending on the scope of the project, the landscape design may include: the siting of a residence or additional buildings on the property, hardscape design (stonewalls, patios, decks, etc.), waterscape design (small ponds, streams, waterfalls, etc.), and the design of specialty gardens.  Clients may also request our optional services: Phasing Plan, Maintenance Plan, and Cost Estimate.

Beautification Services

  • Annual Service:  In the spring/early summer we will touch up your landscape with fresh mulch, organic fertilizer, pruning, and give it a splash of color with annual flowers of your choice.
  • Perennial Service:  Monthly monitoring and care of your landscape.  This may include additional plantings, mulch, fertilizer, and pruning.

Estate and Open Space Planning

This service may include:

  • Master Planning for open space areas or larger estates.  Within the Master Plan process, our company works with the client to set long-term goals for the property.  This document gives detailed site analysis of the existing conditions and outlines the steps needed to accomplish the long-term goals for the property.

  • Design and Install of a Trail System.  Working with the client, we would identify areas of interest on the property, and keeping in mind the clients desires, design a trail system that would make the most of these areas, without being intrusive to the natural surroundings.  Optional services would be to add an educational aspect to the trail, if open to the public or larger groups.

Land Restoration

This service may include:

  • Removal of invasive plants (plants that overtake an area) such as bush and Japanese honeysuckle, creeping euonymus, English ivy, etc.
  • Replacement of non-native invasive plants with the appropriate native plants.
  • Design and installation of native plant communities (prairie, woodland, savanna, meadow, and wetland).
  • Monitoring to ensure success of the restored native plant community.
